CHANGING WINDOWS OF OUR APARTMENT OR HOUSE IN COSTA DEL SOL
Immediately before the start of the electrical installations and plumbing we can safely order the windows, anyway there is some technological time for its production, delivery and installation. It usually takes about 2-4 weeks and sometimes even longer. In fact, the joinery can be ordered at a later stage, but in the context of a complete repair of apartment or house in Costa del Sol – Estepona, Marbella, Calahonda, Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos or Malaga, Spain, where practically everything is changed and repaired, it is good to have it delivered to the site earlier.
Some windows already installed give a front for the external thermal insulation and the interior plasters, especially for the turning moments, but without them one cannot do it anyway. I have deliberately separated the windows from the doors, as the latter are installed at the end of the repair, although it is good to be order earlier. Here comes the fundamental question – what kind of windows to stop? There are basically three options: PVC windows, aluminum windows, wooden windows. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
PVC windows
PVC is the most common windows on the Spanish market, mainly because of its fast production and its low price. It is characterized by the presence of cameras, for example a 5-chamber profile. It has relatively good thermal insulation properties due to its good thermal conductivity. PVC windows work well with condensation and mold. Also, maintenance is quick and easy. The disadvantages are its poor strength and short life, which is about twenty-five years.
Aluminum windows
This is undoubtedly the better option if we are looking for strength and longevity. Aluminum joinery life is twice that of PVC. It comes with a thermal break and no thermal break. Like PVC windows, maintenance is easy here. A major downside to aluminum windows is the cold profile, which can cause condensation. Therefore, the thermal insulation properties are also lower than the PVC windows.
Wooden windows
The aesthetics are leading here. The feeling of solidity and naturalness of the tree is prevalent. The sense of comfort is unmatched. The wooden joinery goes in harmony with the doors and wood flooring as well as the furniture in the home. Wood is the best natural insulator and has the function of breathing. The main disadvantage is the expensive price, which is twice the standard PVC. Another disadvantage of wood is the more expensive and complicated maintenance, as well as the longer production time here in Costa del Sol – Estepona, Marbella, Calahonda, Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos or Malaga.
